All skills at 5:

EHP: 50.2k!!!
DPS: 538 / 571 with heat
Speed:  538m/s
Capacitor: stable at 56%
Optimal range:  1.5k
Cost:  42m ISK approximately

If you’re camping a medium plex, are expecting cruisers or destroyers to turn up and want to put something brawly on the button, this slab is ideal for the job.  More than 50k EHP and cap stable DPS well in excess of 500 are just the ticket, especially if you have a supporting logi fleet to keep you repped.

It’s an afterburner fit, mind, so catching incoming ships is vital but The Monolith boasts a warp scrambler and dual webs to slow your opponent down sufficiently to haul the Electrons into range.  Given the dual webbing, it’s entirely feasible to run Ogre IIs along with the other lighter drones with this setup.  The curious mix of drones need to be run all at the same time – it’s quite effective in giving you extra DPS.

Alternatively, if you have the skills for them, deploy Garde II sentry drones instead.  They run your DPS at 526 in total, but are quite handy to have deployed on the button should fast supporting frigates turn up.

For more range, versatility, and for the sheer laugh of it, try this fit..

Capacitor: lasts 1m 30 seconds

Cost:  35m ISK approximately

Yes, the Vexor can kite.  In its native state, the Vex isn’t as naturally fast as something like the Thorax, but this pimped version has a bit more EHP and with the Polycarbon rigs is turbocharged and more agile.  It can also just about outrun Hammerhead IIs.  Pack Valkyries with this fit to ensure that they get on top of any other kites.

However, these next three fits really hammer home the versatility of the Vexor…

Cost:  38.4m ISK approx

This fit is drone sniping mentalism turned up to 11.  Two. Hundred. Kilometres.  Yep, the DPS is nothing to write home about, but the range is off the scale.  If you’re defending a plex, then get something like 150km off the button, assign your drones to anyone down the front (you can take control of them again quickly if you need, but you need them close to the action).  Target.  Engage.

If anything does fancy closing the gap to try and have a go, then keep the Valks and the Warriors in reserve.  Or just align to something and warp off if they get within, I dunno, 100km of you.  There isn’t another cruiser that can reach this sort of range, so you can be confident on the battlefield that you’re the snipiest ship out there.

It’s not only plexes where this can be utilised.  Position yourself 150km away from the gate guns, and you can have all sorts of laughs on system gates, outside stations etc.  Plus you can annoy the hell out of idiots in gank fit artillery Battlecruisers like Tornados.

Don’t bother with Ogres or any heavy drones – they take way too long to travel and recall on a fit like this.

Plus - it has another trick up its sleeve. Trade out some drones to make space for three Garde IIs, swap the targetting range scripts for scan res boosters, and you have a makeshift gate / station camp fit - very quickly locking, fire off a salvo of Garde damage.

Speed:  1485m/s
Capacitor: 30 seconds, but can restore 800 in 24s
Optimal range:  inside 12km
Cost:  45m ISK approx

I can’t say I was a massive fan of this fit when my corp started frothing over it.  But try as I might, I’ve failed to improve the tank side of it in any way and have been won over.  It can neut out a typical cruiser in three rounds or less – 30 seconds if you have the neuts overheated.  In a mixed fleet, it’s a useful fit to deploy.

For under 40m, this is a great value-for-money hub bashing option:  well over 850DPS matched to a shield tank in excess of 30k and cap stable.
